When and why did Team Vegan start?

We don't have an official date because it just "happened" as part of organising the 2008 Round The Bays fun run. Because so many people were interested in the team becoming a permanent club we decided to make the initiative more official and create a place for vegans to meet and compete.

How long do I have to be Vegan before I join?

You can join Team Vegan as soon as you're vegan, and must remain vegan to be a part of it, but you must also be vegan for at least four weeks before your first Team Vegan event.

How much does it cost?

Joining is currently free, although we may look at instigating a membership so that we can cover the costs of running the group. You must also purchase a Team Vegan t-shirt or singlet when you join.

Can I organise my own events with members?

Most definitely! Team Vegan is an informal alliance, in that the organisers will offer a web presence and general information on events, but we ourselves might not compete or organise Team Vegan participation in every event that comes along. This is where you should feel free to organise members together yourself.

How do I communicate with you and other members?

We have an email list and when you join up, we'll subscribe you to it and you'll start receiving Team Vegan correspondence. You can use this to organise events.
